The development potential for international schools in China today

£550 million worth of education deals were finalised in January during the British prime minister’s visit to China. This included several new international school developments, some partnering with British independent school brands.

China already leads the world for the number of English-medium K-12 international schools with 806 but there’s huge room for more growth and strong confidence in the market. Fuelled by extensive demand from Chinese nationals for high-quality, Western-style learning, and boosted by a recent loosening of government restrictions on foreign investment, ISC Research predicts that substantial international school development in China is likely.
